Custom shop. This is a very rare example. Most of these are in a black hollow. This is the only purple Holly could we have ever seen.
Absolutely spectacular. COA his is not like the typical Fender sparkle/flake finishes - the flakes in this are prism-like and pop out in like a 3D multi-color sparkle. Its very cool in person, but a bit hard to photograph.
The guitar itself is an early example of Fender Custom Shop craftsmanship. Many collectors consider these 90's CS guitars to be among the highest quality of all the years since the Custom Shop was started. The "American Classic" series was essentially the CS version of the American Standard Strat, with nicer woods, parts and superior fit and finish. I purchased this guitar 5 years ago from Gruhn Guitars in Nashville.

Overall, the condition is almost perfect. I basically never list guitars as "mint", but this one is as close as I've seen. No dings, or major play wear at all. Frets show almost no wear and are nice and tall for easy playability. The neck is straight and the guitar recently received a professional setup with Ernie Ball 10's, with action set to 4/64" at the 12th fret (relief @ .010" under string tension).
The guitar sounds great. Very resonant, even unplugged, and really captures that classic Strat sound. This guitar comes with the original hard case (a few exterior scuffs, but excellent shape), and lots of case candy: 1994 Custom Shop Catalog, Fender Custom Shop Photo Book, original certificate of authenticity, original Fender strings (never used), allen key, case keys, owners manual, and tremolo instruction card.
